ENGINE: Four cylinder, 4 stroke, internal combustion gasoline engine, Cylinders cast in block, detachable head. Bore = 3 3/4 inche, Stroke - 4 inch. "L" head with 2 side valves per cylinder, Splash lubricated, water cooled, 20 HP
COMPRESSION RATIO: 4.5:1
INTAKE VALVE GAP: .010"-.012"
EXHAUST VALVE GAP: .012"-.015"
FUEL ECONOMY: Approx 20-25 MPG at 35 MPH
COOLING: Initial models - gear driven centrifugal water pump. Later models - thermosiphon
IGNITION: Ford magneto generator, low tension, direct connected to engine drive.

TRANSMISSION: Planetary transmission, 2 forward speeds, 1 reverse. Rear wheel drive.
CONTROL: Spark and throttle controls located under the steering wheel. All forward speeds selected by foot pedal. Reverse by hand lever in initial models. Later models by foot pedal.
STEERING: Ford reduction gear system
BRAKES: 2 sets - Main operated by foot pedal, band on transmission. emergency brake - operated by hand lever with internal expanding brake on rear hub drums.
SPRINGS: Front and rear, semi-elliptic
AVERAGE WEIGHT: 1200 to 1500 ibs - depending on model and year
COLOURS: Up to 1914 the Model T Ford was available in a variety of colours. From this period until 1926 these vehicles were only available in black. The reason for this was to ensure the most efficient production as the black colour enamel paint dried fastest.
